About this project
Unbound: Black History, Our History is a digital exhibit built to honor, illuminate, and connect. It presents 26 interwoven narratives — one for each letter of the alphabet — that trace the legacy, resistance, imagination, and impact of Black people across centuries.
This is not a timeline. It is a constellation.
Each letter opens a door. Each story invites reflection.
Together, they form a living archive of memory and possibility.
Unbound was created to challenge erasure, deepen understanding, and spark dialogue. It centers voices often sidelined, reframes history through a lens of truth and dignity, and offers space for personal and collective reflection. Each entry includes a historical vignette, a contemporary connection, a reflection question, and curated resources—designed to engage learners, educators, families, and communities alike.
This project is rooted in the belief that Black history is not separate from history — it is foundational to it. And it belongs to all of us.
Whether you begin at A or Z, you are invited to witness, to learn, and to carry these stories forward.
